HMD Global has expanded its smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the HMD Vibe 2 5G, touted as the country's first smartphone to feature Indus by Sarvam AI. The device will go on sale starting May 26, 2026, at 12 noon on Flipkart, with a special launch price starting at Rs 9,499.

In an official press release, HMD stated that the new handset is tailored for the evolving needs of young Indian consumers. It combines AI-powered experiences, future-ready connectivity, and premium design aesthetics in the highly competitive sub-Rs 10,000 smartphone category.

The HMD Vibe 2 5G runs on the latest Android 16 operating system and is powered by an octa-core 2.3GHz processor. It boasts a large 6,000mAh adaptive battery, supported by an 18W in-box charger. The smartphone features a sleek, premium design with IP64 water and dust resistance, along a smooth 120Hz refresh rate display.
The device comes equipped with a 50MP Dual AI camera system designed to capture sharper and balanced shots across different lighting conditions. For selfies, it includes an 8MP front camera optimized for portraits and low-light photography.
Variants and Colour Options
The HMD Vibe 2 5G will be available in two variants: 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB. It comes in three colour options: Cosmic Lavender, Nordic Blue, and Peach Pink.
