Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) has announced the establishment of 14 examination centers for the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) entrance exam, which is scheduled to be conducted on May 23. The decision was taken to facilitate candidates appearing for the test across the state.
Exam Schedule and Shifts
The entrance examination will be held in two shifts. The first shift will commence at 9:00 AM and conclude at 11:00 AM, while the second shift will run from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Candidates are advised to report to their respective centers at least an hour before the start of the exam.
Number of Candidates
According to university officials, more than 5,000 candidates have registered for the B.Ed entrance exam this year. The increase in the number of applicants reflects the growing interest in teaching as a profession in the region.
List of Centers
The 14 centers will be located at various colleges and institutions affiliated with HPU. Key locations include Government College in Shimla, DAV College in Solan, and RKMV College in Palampur, among others. A complete list of centers will be available on the university's official website.
Preparation and Guidelines
HPU has issued detailed guidelines for candidates. They must carry their admit card and a valid photo ID to the exam center. Electronic devices, including mobile phones and smartwatches, are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. The university has also made arrangements for strict invigilation to ensure a fair conduct of the test.
