The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong has been awarded the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation, widely regarded as the gold standard in management education worldwide. AACSB formally recognized IIM Shillong's accreditation in its official global announcement released in 2026.
Landmark Achievement for IIM Shillong
This landmark achievement places IIM Shillong among an elite group of business schools globally that have successfully met AACSB's rigorous standards of excellence in teaching, research, curriculum, learner success, and societal impact. AACSB accreditation is earned by less than 6% of business schools globally, making it one of the most respected recognitions in management education, the IIM stated on Thursday.
With this achievement, IIM Shillong joins around 30 AACSB-accredited institutions in India and becomes one of the select IIMs to receive this globally recognized accreditation, further strengthening its international standing in management education, an IIM statement said.

The accreditation reflects IIM Shillong's commitment to academic excellence, sustainability-driven management education, research, innovation, and global engagement. The rigorous AACSB peer-review process evaluated the institute across strategic management, faculty quality, research, learner outcomes, industry engagement, and continuous improvement, the IIM release read.
