Instagram Boosts Creator Tools in India with Language Dubbing and New Fonts

Instagram has rolled out a significant update for creators in India. The platform now allows users to dub their Reels in six Indian languages. This move aims to make content more accessible and engaging for diverse audiences across the country.

New Language Support for Reels Dubbing

Meta announced that creators can translate and dub their Instagram and Facebook Reels in Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, and Hindi. These languages join the existing support for English, Spanish, and Portuguese. The Reels dubbing and lip-sync features are available starting today.

Introduction of Regional Fonts

Alongside dubbing, Instagram has introduced new fonts that support Devanagari and Bengali-Assamese scripts. This allows creators to style captions and text in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, and Assamese. These fonts will roll out on Android devices in the coming days.

How to Use the New Features

Here is a simple guide to access these tools:

  1. Open the editing timeline in Instagram.
  2. Select Text and tap the Aa icon to view available fonts.
  3. Devices set to Devanagari or Bengali-Assamese scripts will display these fonts by default.
  4. Other users can filter fonts by language in the “All fonts” tab.

This expansion reflects Instagram's commitment to catering to India's linguistic diversity. It empowers creators to reach wider audiences with localized content.
