In a special drive under 'Operation Muskan', the Khunti police successfully recovered 57 stolen mobile phones and handed them over to their rightful owners. The initiative underscores the police force's commitment to addressing property crimes and restoring trust among citizens.
Details of the Operation
Khunti Superintendent of Police (SP) Rishabha Garg revealed that during the drive, all police stations across the district conducted continuous technical investigations and coordinated raids to trace and recover the stolen devices. The operation leveraged advanced tracking methods and intelligence gathering to locate the phones.
Appeal to the Public
SP Garg emphasized the importance of sensitivity in handling cases involving common people. He instructed all officers to approach such matters with empathy and diligence. Furthermore, he appealed to the public to immediately register complaints regarding thefts, including mobile phone thefts, at their nearest police stations. Prompt reporting, he noted, significantly enhances the chances of recovery.
While the recovery operation was successful, the police did not disclose any arrests made during the drive. This suggests that the focus remained on asset recovery rather than apprehension of suspects at this stage.
The recovered phones were verified and returned to their owners, who expressed gratitude for the police's efforts. The operation serves as a reminder of the importance of community-police collaboration in combating crime.
