Kozhikode: In a major drug bust, police arrested three men with more than 1.13kg of MDMA near the service road close to Capkon City in Pantheerankavu on Saturday. The arrested individuals have been identified as Muhammad Arshlal (25), Adilsha (20), and Muhammad Farhan (22), all natives of Malappuram. Along with the drugs, police also seized a car used for drug trafficking.
Operation Details
The operation was led by Kozhikode city narcotic assistant commissioner Abdul Kareem, with members of Dansaf and Pantheerankavu police forming the team. Police revealed that the accused had been under surveillance by the Dansaf team, which had intelligence about a large consignment of MDMA being brought into the city.
Drug Source and Distribution
According to police, the drugs were sourced from Delhi and Goa and were distributed in packets to small traders in Kozhikode and Malappuram. The accused confessed that the drugs were intended for sale during the holiday season, with students being the primary buyers.
Previous Offenses
Adilsha already has cases registered against him for possession and use of MDMA. The investigation is currently underway to identify their suppliers and customers.
This seizure underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb drug trafficking in the region, particularly targeting networks that exploit festive periods to target vulnerable youth.
