Lucknow University Invites Applications for NRI Quota in LLB, BTech
LU Opens NRI Quota Applications for LLB and BTech

Lucknow University on Monday invited applications for its integrated five-year LLB programme and BTech programmes under the NRI and NRI-sponsored quota. Under this quota, 30 seats in the LLB programme and 5% of seats in each BTech branch will be reserved for NRI and NRI-sponsored candidates. The last date for submitting applications is June 30.

Eligibility and Preference Criteria

According to admission coordinator Anitya Gaurav, NRI-sponsored seats are available for Indian residents who have a close NRI relative. The sponsor must be an NRI, while the NRI quota seats are meant for NRIs or the son, daughter, real brother, or sister of NRIs who have passed the minimum eligibility qualifying examination.

First preference will be given to NRIs. Any vacant seats under the NRI quota will then be filled by the son, daughter, real brother, or sister of NRIs. If seats still remain vacant, they will be offered to NRI-sponsored candidates who possess a certificate of passing the minimum eligibility examination.

Documentation and Counselling Process

University officials stated that all candidates must submit an NRI certificate obtained from the Indian diplomatic mission, chancellery, or high commission under their seal at the time of counselling. Additionally, candidates must provide sufficient documents clearly establishing their relationship with the sponsoring NRI for the entire duration of the programme, to the satisfaction of the university.

“Candidates will be informed separately about the counselling date and the number of seats under this quota through the university website. They are required to be present in person on the counselling day with original documents and certificates. Failure to do so will result in losing their claim,” an LU official said.

For further information, candidates can check the university website regularly.
