Chennai: Metasports Interactive, a mobile gaming company, has secured $20 million in funding from London-based Metica to bolster the growth of its competitive multiplayer cricket game, Hitwicket. The capital will be allocated toward scaling marketing and user acquisition efforts as the company targets its next phase of global expansion, according to an official statement.

Funding and Technology Partnership

The funding round is accompanied by a technology partnership with Metica aimed at optimizing in-game revenue performance and strengthening unit economics. With this investment, Metasports Interactive plans to drive growth over the next 18 months through marketing in key international markets, AI-led targeting strategies, and product investments.

Company Background and Performance

Co-founded by Kashyap Reddy and Keerti Singh, Metasports Interactive's flagship title Hitwicket boasts a player base of over 18 million users. The company reports higher monetization metrics, player retention rates, and consistent quality in its user acquisition data.

"User acquisition funding, a new financing model, has been gaining momentum in the gaming and consumer apps industry. As user acquisition is one of the biggest cost factors for these companies, this offers non-dilutive ways to scale," said Kashyap Reddy, CEO of Metasports Interactive.

Hitwicket is popular across the United States, Europe, and Southeast Asia, and has become a standard tool for scaling mobile titles efficiently. The company aims to leverage this funding to further penetrate these markets and expand its user base.
