The job description states: 'The Community Engagement Lead will be the primary bridge between OpenAI and the communities where we develop data centers. This role ensures that OpenAI builds strong, trust-based relationships with local stakeholders, communicates proactively about our projects, and integrates community priorities into our development approach. The role spans engagement, communications, and reputation management. This role ensures that communities understand what we are building, why it matters, and how they can meaningfully benefit from it. The Community Engagement Lead will proactively shape dialogue, surface concerns before they escalate, and embed community priorities into how projects are planned, communicated, and delivered.'
Key Responsibilities

OpenAI's Stargate Project
The Stargate Project is a new company intending to invest $500 billion over the next four years to build new AI infrastructure for OpenAI in the United States. This infrastructure aims to secure American leadership in AI, create hundreds of thousands of American jobs, and generate massive economic benefits globally. The project will support the re-industrialization of the United States and provide strategic capability to protect national security of America and its allies. Initial equity funders include SoftBank, OpenAI, Oracle, and MGX. SoftBank and OpenAI are the lead partners, with SoftBank handling financial responsibility and OpenAI operational responsibility.
