The Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket has officially announced its upcoming expansion pack, titled Pulsing Aura, which is set to introduce a fresh wave of Pokémon and Trainer cards to the mobile game. This new content will become available later this month, offering players additional strategic depth and collectible options.
What the Pulsing Aura Expansion Brings
The expansion focuses on Pokémon that emphasize training and combat readiness, aligning with its fighting theme. Among the highlights are the debut of Mega Lucario ex and Mega Sceptile ex, both powerful additions to any deck. Alongside these, new Supporter cards such as Korrina and Arena of Antiquity will be introduced, designed to influence match strategies and provide players with more tactical flexibility. This update continues the game's ongoing rollout of content aimed at expanding card collections and introducing new mechanics.
Release Date and Cosmetic Updates
The Pulsing Aura expansion will go live on April 27 at 6:00 p.m. PDT. Shortly after, on April 30, themed cosmetic updates will arrive, including covers and backdrops featuring Mega Lucario. These additions allow players to customize how they display their card collections within the game, adding a personal touch to their profiles.
Gold Frames: A New Flair System
One of the key changes with this expansion is the introduction of gold frames as a type of flair for cards of three rarity levels. Players can automatically unlock a gold frame by collecting 10 copies of the same card. This feature applies retroactively, meaning cards already owned in sufficient quantity will also receive the gold frame. Additional gold frames can be obtained by using duplicate cards through the Obtain Flair system, encouraging players to gather multiple copies of their favorite cards.
Elite Deck Gift Missions and In-Game Events
The update will also introduce new Elite Deck Gift Missions, available from late April through July. The featured Elite Deck is a Fire-type deck that includes Mega Charizard Y ex from the Crimson Blaze expansion and Moltres ex from Genetic Apex. Players can engage in these missions to earn exclusive rewards.
In addition, several in-game events are scheduled for April and May. These include the Special Event 2026, Handy Card Collection Missions, Community Week, Pulsing Aura Emblem Event, and Mega Heracross ex Drop Event. Through these events, players can earn promo cards and other in-game items, adding more incentive to participate actively.
