Sony INZONE H6 Air Gaming Headset Launched at Rs 17,990

Sony has introduced the INZONE H6 Air in India, a wired open-back gaming headset that weighs just 199 grams, making it the lightest headset in the INZONE lineup to date. The headset is now available for purchase through Amazon and Shopatsc.com at a price of Rs 17,990.

Open-Back Design for Immersive Sound

The H6 Air's most distinctive feature is its open-back design. Unlike closed-back headsets that trap sound inside the ear cups, the open-back structure reduces internal sound reflection, producing a more natural and three-dimensional soundstage. The driver units are directly inspired by Sony's MDR-MV1 studio monitor headphones, which are a professional reference standard in the audio industry.

Ultra-Lightweight Construction

Weighing under 200 grams, the headset employs a wire band and suspender structure at the top instead of a conventional padded headband. This design reduces bulk without sacrificing stability. The aluminium housing features a 'Graduated Hole Design'—rows of precisely arranged perforations that serve both acoustic and aesthetic purposes. It is a genuinely interesting structural choice that enhances both form and function.

Advanced Spatial Audio and Connectivity

For spatial audio, the headset supports 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming via a bundled USB-C audio box. Sony also developed a dedicated RPG/Adventure equaliser profile in collaboration with sound designers from PlayStation Studios—a useful preset for gamers who play across genres rather than sticking strictly to competitive shooters. Connectivity covers the basics well: a 3.5mm cable for direct plug-in to PS5 controllers or phones, and USB-C for PC use with the INZONE HUB software for deeper customisation. The detachable boom mic weighs just 12 grams and uses a cardioid pickup pattern to focus on your voice while cutting side noise.
