The 48th Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Jaynagar, launched a 15-day phone repairing training programme on Thursday, aimed at promoting skill development and self-employment among youth in border areas. The course was inaugurated at the community hall in Pipraun village under the Mahadevpatty border outpost.
Inauguration and Leadership
The programme is being conducted under the guidance of Commandant Govind Singh Bhandari, with Deputy Commandant Hari Narayan Jat leading the initiative. Jat formally inaugurated the training and addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of technical skills for achieving self-reliance.
Participants and Villages
A total of 30 youths from villages including Karuna, Khauna, Harlakhi, Naharnia, Pipraun, Umgaw, Kamtaul, Gangaur, Gopalpur, and Phulhar have enrolled in the course. These participants will gain hands-on experience in mobile phone repair, a skill that can open doors to self-employment and gainful employment opportunities.
Focus on Skill Development
In his address, Deputy Commandant Jat encouraged participants to utilize the training effectively to explore opportunities in self-employment. He highlighted that technical skills are crucial for economic independence and urged the youth to make the most of this initiative.
Officials reiterated Commandant Bhandari's message that skill-based training for border youth remains a top priority for SSB. Such programmes connect young people with livelihood options and contribute to nation-building. The SSB continues to work towards empowering communities in border areas through education and vocational training.
