TCS Expands Global AI Network with Seventh Gemini Experience Center in Michigan

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has inaugurated its seventh Gemini Experience Center (GEC) worldwide, strategically located at the company's Innovation Hub in Troy, Michigan. This new facility represents the second such center in the United States, following the initial establishment in partnership with Google Cloud in New York. The launch underscores TCS's commitment to advancing artificial intelligence adoption across key industrial sectors.

Focus on Physical AI for Manufacturing Innovation

The latest TCS GEC is dedicated to developing state-of-the-art Physical AI solutions specifically tailored for the manufacturing industry. This initiative aims to help global manufacturers explore, test, and scale AI use cases that enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency. By integrating intelligence at the core of industrial processes, the center seeks to transform traditional manufacturing environments into more adaptive and resilient operations.

According to TCS, the Physical AI GEC for Manufacturing in Troy will enable enterprises to leverage advanced technologies for real-time insights and autonomous decision-making. The center features the TCS Physical AI Blueprint, a comprehensive framework that combines AI-powered quadruped and humanoid robotics with cutting-edge sensing, edge intelligence, and secure cloud orchestration. This end-to-end approach is designed to address challenges in environments that are difficult, hazardous, or inefficient for human access.

Strategic Vision and Global Expansion Plans

This new center marks a significant milestone in TCS's global expansion strategy for its Gemini Experience Centers. The company has set an ambitious target to establish a total of 13 GECs worldwide by the end of 2026, with six additional centers scheduled to launch this year. As AI adoption accelerates across various industries, these centers are poised to play a critical role in helping organizations transition from pilot projects to scalable, production-ready transformation programs.

Anupam Singhal, President of Manufacturing at TCS, emphasized the transformative potential of Physical AI. "With the launch of our Physical AI Gemini Experience Center for Manufacturing, we are enabling manufacturers to extend visibility and decision-making into environments that are difficult, risky, or inefficient for humans to access. Designed with a human-in-the-loop approach, Physical AI operates alongside the workforce, strengthening safety and resilience. The real impact is creating future-ready industrial environments that are safer, more adaptive, and continuously aware—at scale," he stated.

Key Applications and Collaborative Efforts

The Physical AI solutions developed at the new center encompass a range of practical use cases, including:

  • Autonomous patrolling and surveillance
  • Environmental anomaly detection
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance monitoring
  • Intelligent quality inspection
  • Progress mapping and predictive equipment health monitoring

TCS's collaboration with Google Cloud remains a cornerstone of this initiative. Saurabh Tiwary, Vice President and General Manager of Cloud AI at Google Cloud, highlighted the partnership's benefits: "Through the new Physical AI Gemini Experience Center, we are equipping global manufacturers with the intelligence to build more autonomous, resilient, and data-driven enterprises, allowing them to fully optimize their business models with Google Cloud's leading technology."

Enterprises visiting the center will participate in curated demonstrations and scenario-based workshops to experience how AI can accelerate end-to-end adoption—from infrastructure setup to production-ready outcomes. These sessions aim to enhance shopfloor performance, modernize enterprise AI platforms, and enable autonomous industrial operations.

Existing Network and Future Prospects

Prior to this launch, TCS had already established six Gemini Experience Centers in key global locations: Bangalore, New York, Chennai, Riyadh, Singapore, and Sao Paulo. These centers are integral components of the TCS Pace and innovation network, which connects startups, universities, and customers to the forefront of technological advancement.

In a related development, TCS recently expanded its relationship with Google Cloud to broaden customer access to Gemini Enterprise. This expansion enables TCS teams to develop custom agents and integrate pre-built Google Cloud agents, along with third-party agents, into Gemini Enterprise. This collaborative effort is designed to help customers drive greater efficiency and innovation in their operations.

The launch of the seventh Gemini Experience Center in Michigan reinforces TCS's leadership in the AI landscape, positioning the company as a pivotal player in the digital transformation of the manufacturing sector. As industries worldwide embrace AI-driven solutions, TCS's global network of innovation hubs is set to play an increasingly vital role in shaping the future of industrial automation and intelligence.
