Trichy: The Tamil Nadu Anna University Teachers Association (TNAUTA) has urged the university to promptly finalize the long-overdue absorption process and career advancement scheme (CAS) promotions for eligible faculty members.
Governing Body Resolution
The governing body, which convened on Sunday, passed a resolution calling on the university administration to resolve all pending promotion cases without further delay. Members highlighted that CAS applications submitted in June 2023 remain unresolved three years later, causing hardship and professional stagnation for eligible faculty.
Concerns Over Absorption Process
The association expressed concern over the prolonged delay in the absorption process, which began in 2012 but remains incomplete after 14 years. This has adversely affected service benefits and career progression for several eligible faculty members, the association stated.
If necessary, the association plans to escalate their grievances to the higher education minister and chief minister. The meeting was attended by TNAUTA president R Prabakaran, general secretary R Udhayakumar, and Trichy campus president B Manikandan, among others.
