Xiaomi Launches Redmi Turbo 5 in India with Big Battery

Xiaomi has officially introduced the Redmi Turbo 5 smartphone in the Indian market, marking the debut of the Redmi Turbo series in the country. The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, boasts a massive 7,540mAh battery with 100W fast charging support, and features a 50MP Sony primary camera. It also sports a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3. According to Xiaomi, the smartphone is tailored for users who demand robust performance for gaming, content creation, multitasking, and daily usage. The company has also committed to providing four years of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

Redmi Turbo 5 Features and Specifications

The Redmi Turbo 5 is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset. It supports LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring faster app loading and seamless multitasking. The phone incorporates Redmi's 3D IceLoop cooling system and Game Turbo Wild Boost optimizations. Xiaomi claims that the device can deliver 120fps gaming in over 20 supported titles.

The smartphone houses a 7,540mAh battery, which Xiaomi states is the largest battery ever used in a Redmi smartphone in India. It supports 100W HyperCharge, capable of charging up to 51% in just 30 minutes. Additionally, the device offers 27W reverse charging.

For photography, the Redmi Turbo 5 features a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS). It supports 4K video recording at 60fps. The phone also includes Turbo Snap burst mode, which can capture up to 100 photos in 4.4 seconds.

On the front, the device boasts a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. The screen supports a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate, Dolby Vision, 12-bit color depth, and 3,840Hz PWM dimming. The smartphone comes with dual stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Audio support.

Additional features include IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, Xiaomi HyperAI features, Google Gemini integration, Circle to Search, and Xiaomi HyperConnect.

Redmi Turbo 5 Price and Availability

The Redmi Turbo 5 will be available in two storage variants in India:

  • 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: ₹37,999 (launch price ₹35,999 with ₹2,000 discount)
  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: ₹40,999 (launch price ₹38,999 with ₹2,000 discount)

The smartphone will go on sale from 12:00 PM on June 19, 2026. It will be available through Mi.com, Amazon.in, and Xiaomi retail stores across India.
