APMC Rolls Out AI-Powered WhatsApp Service for Andhra Pradesh Doctors
The Andhra Pradesh Medical Council has taken a significant step forward in digital healthcare services. On Monday, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav formally launched an innovative artificial intelligence-based WhatsApp service. This new system aims to assist registered medical practitioners across the state.
Convenient Access to Council Services
Doctors can now access important information without visiting the APMC office or making phone calls. The service operates through WhatsApp number 9030999616. Registered medical practitioners can use this number to get details about various council services.
Dr. Srihari Rao, the APMC chairman, explained the scope of this initiative. "We have nearly 1.3 lakh doctors currently registered with our council," he stated. "This AI service will make their interactions with the council much smoother."
Comprehensive Service Offerings
The AI-powered chatbot provides information on ten different services through multiple formats:
- Short text messages for quick answers
- Explanatory videos for detailed guidance
- Structured Q&A format for clarity
Key services covered by the chatbot include:
- New registration procedures
- Required documentation for various processes
- Renewal procedures and timelines
- Credit point requirements for doctors
- Contact details for slot booking
Streamlined Operations and Reduced Burden
The council has implemented several changes to improve efficiency. The renewal process has been decentralized to district-level centers. This move reduces the need for doctors to travel to central offices.
Additionally, the council has reduced mandatory credit points for doctors. These changes, combined with the new AI service, create a more user-friendly system for medical practitioners.
The AI chatbot addresses queries in a simple, accessible manner. Doctors receive information in their preferred format, whether through text or video explanations. This approach ensures that even those less familiar with technology can benefit from the service.
This initiative represents a major shift in how medical councils interact with their members. By leveraging artificial intelligence through a popular messaging platform, the APMC brings council services directly to doctors' smartphones.
