In a significant push towards technological modernization, the Bihar government convened a high-level meeting with leading technology and business organizations on Friday to chart a roadmap for expanding artificial intelligence (AI) and digital governance across the state.
Government's Vision for a Tech-Forward Bihar
The meeting, called 'Udyog Varta (Industry Dialogues)', was led by Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit. It brought together senior state government officers and representatives from 13 organizations specializing in modern technologies like AI and startup ecosystems. The session was held at the auditorium of Vayuyan Sangathan Nideshalaya near Patna airport.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Secretary Amrit emphasized the state's urgent priority. "The priority of the govt is to introduce and implement modern technologies and AI at every level in the state, as the world is changing fast and Bihar, too, would act in synergy with it," he stated. He further stressed the need for Bihar to develop a robust AI ecosystem to keep pace with global changes and to integrate AI into government functioning.

The interface yielded several concrete outcomes and proposals, with the chief secretary making immediate referrals to relevant departments for action. Major focus areas included:
