Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav officially inaugurated a 60 MW solar power plant, which was constructed at a cost of ₹271.16 crore. The plant is expected to significantly boost the state's renewable energy capacity and contribute to environmental sustainability.
Project Details and Impact
The solar power plant, spread over a vast area, has been equipped with advanced photovoltaic panels and state-of-the-art technology to ensure efficient energy generation. It is projected to generate approximately 120 million units of electricity annually, which will be supplied to the grid and help meet the growing energy demands of the region.
During the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Yadav emphasized the government's commitment to promoting clean energy and reducing carbon emissions. He stated that this project aligns with the national goal of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
Economic and Environmental Benefits
The plant is expected to create numerous job opportunities during its operational phase, besides providing indirect employment in related sectors. Environmentally, it will offset around 100,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year, equivalent to planting millions of trees.
Local residents and officials expressed optimism about the project, noting that it will also improve the reliability of power supply in the area. The state government plans to establish more such plants in the future to harness solar energy potential.
Future Plans
The Chief Minister announced that the government is working on additional renewable energy projects, including wind and hybrid plants, to diversify the energy mix. He urged private sector participation and assured support for such initiatives.
The inauguration marks a significant milestone in the state's journey towards energy self-sufficiency and sustainable development.
