Fire at Furniture Unit in Hyderabad, No Casualties Reported

A massive fire broke out at a furniture manufacturing unit in Kishanbagh, Hyderabad, on Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames within 45 minutes, and no casualties were reported.

Fire Incident Details

According to Chandulal Biradari station fire officer (SFO) B Surender Reddy, a distress call was received from locals at around 2:28 pm regarding the incident. Five fire engines from four stations were dispatched to the scene to control the blaze.

Possible Cause of Fire

Preliminary enquiries suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. The flames quickly spread to nearby plywood and later engulfed the entire godown. The intensity of the fire increased due to the presence of foam and furniture sets, as stated by Rajendranagar SFO V Chandra Naik.

Owner and Legal Proceedings

The unit is owned by Khaja Pasha, who has not yet lodged a police complaint regarding the incident. Bahadurpura inspector Md Shakeel Ali said, "Officials are currently clearing debris from the scene, although the fire has been extinguished. The legal process will begin after that."

Estimated Loss and Investigation

The property loss is estimated at Rs 10 lakh. A further investigation into the incident is underway. Authorities are working to determine the exact cause and assess the full extent of the damage.
