The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M)-led digital learning platform Swayam Plus has launched three new artificial intelligence courses in partnership with IIT-M Pravartak. These courses are part of the 'AI for All' campaign, aimed at making digital skills accessible to a broader audience.
Course Details
The newly introduced courses include AI for aspiring engineers, AI for administrators, and prompt engineering. They are designed as beginner-friendly programs that require no prior coding or AI experience. Learners from diverse academic and professional backgrounds can enroll. The courses are taught by experts from the IIT ecosystem and focus on practical, real-world applications of AI.
Registration Information
The last date to register for all three courses is May 10. Registrations are currently open on the Swayam Plus portal.
R Sarathi, dean (planning) at IIT Madras, stated, 'Swayam Plus has successfully completed two years. It hosts more than 500 online courses in areas such as engineering, banking, financial services and insurance, and IT/ITES.'
Course Breakdown
- AI for aspiring engineers: This course aims to equip students transitioning from school to engineering with foundational skills in Python, AI, and machine learning using real engineering datasets. The fee is 500 rupees.
- AI for administrators: This course focuses on enabling management professionals to make informed decisions using AI, machine learning, and generative AI. The fee is 100 rupees.
- Prompt engineering: This course introduces learners to effectively interact with AI systems to generate accurate and meaningful outputs. The fee is 100 rupees.
