Lenovo ThinkStation P4 Launched with AMD Ryzen PRO 9000 and Nvidia RTX PRO 6000
Lenovo ThinkStation P4 Launches with AMD Ryzen PRO 9000, Nvidia RTX

Lenovo has officially launched the ThinkStation P4, positioning it as the first desktop workstation to ship with AMD's Ryzen PRO 9000 Series processors paired with Nvidia's RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition GPUs. This 30-litre tower is engineered for engineers, designers, and content creators who seek high performance without paying a premium price.

ThinkStation P4 Pairs AMD 3D V-Cache with 96GB Nvidia Blackwell GPU Memory

The top configuration of the ThinkStation P4 features the AMD Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D, a 16-core processor that achieves clock speeds up to 5.5GHz. This is the first professional-grade processor to incorporate AMD's 3D V-Cache Technology, which significantly enhances performance for data-intensive tasks such as simulation and rendering. When combined with the RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPU, which offers 96GB of GDDR7 ECC memory, the system delivers up to 4,000 TOPS of AI compute power. Memory capacity scales up to 256GB of DDR5 RAM at 6400MT/s. For higher-end CPU variants, Lenovo has integrated liquid cooling to maintain quiet operation during prolonged rendering and CAD sessions. The workstation runs on Windows 11 Pro, Ubuntu, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Lenovo Emphasizes Hybrid AI Approach

Lenovo is strategically promoting a hybrid AI approach, citing its CIO Playbook 2026, which reveals that two-thirds of enterprises now prefer hybrid AI as their primary strategy. This trend underscores the growing importance of local processing power, making the ThinkStation P4 a timely offering.

Six Drives, Four PCIe Slots, and Eco-Friendly Chassis

The ThinkStation P4 supports up to six drives: three M.2 NVMe SSDs and three 3.5-inch HDDs, providing a maximum storage capacity of 48TB. It includes four PCIe expansion slots, one of which is Gen 5 x16. Connectivity options include a 20Gbps USB-C port on the front, DisplayPort 2.0, HDMI 2.1, and 2.5GbE. Wireless connectivity is covered by Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. For security, Lenovo's ThinkShield suite provides discrete TPM 2.0, a chassis intrusion switch, and BIOS-level protections. The chassis is constructed from 95% post-consumer recycled ABS plastic and 16% recycled steel, and it holds EPEAT Gold and ENERGY STAR 9.0 certifications. The ThinkStation P4 will ship in select markets starting June 2026, with pricing yet to be announced.
