MNNIT to Launch BTech in Aerospace Engineering with UT Austin

Prayagraj: Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) will soon launch a BTech programme in Aerospace Engineering. The institute has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Texas at Austin to elevate aerospace engineering education to new heights.

MoU Signed During US Visit

The formal agreement was signed last week during the visit of MNNIT director Prof RS Verma to the University of Texas at Austin in the United States. This collaboration is widely regarded as a significant step toward promoting academic exchange, joint research, and technological innovation between the two institutions.

Key Features of the Collaboration

Under the MoU, students and faculty members will gain exposure to international-level education, advanced research facilities, and opportunities to collaborate with global experts. The Aerospace Engineering curriculum will incorporate modern technologies, innovations, and industry-oriented practical training.

According to information released by the institute, this initiative will prepare students for global competition and provide a new direction to aerospace education in India. Both institutions are expected to organize joint workshops, faculty exchange programmes, research projects, and student training programmes in the future.

UP Government's Exposure Visit Programme

In another significant development, the Uttar Pradesh government has released a list of exposure visit destinations for over 1.25 crore students studying in Classes 1 to 8 across more than 1.30 lakh council-run primary, upper primary, and composite schools in all 75 districts of the state. Students from Prayagraj and Kaushambi will visit institutions including MNNIT, Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad at Jhalwa, NTPC Ltd Meja, IFFCO Phulpur, National Academy of Sciences India, ITI Naini, and Jawahar Planetarium at Anand Bhavan. Children from Kaushambi will also visit the guava research centre at Khusrobagh.

Students from Pratapgarh will tour MNNIT, IIIT, and Jawahar Planetarium in Prayagraj, in addition to visiting Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd and Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi at Fursatganj in Amethi district.

National mentor Shatruanjay Sharma stated that educational tours would help develop scientific temperament among children and enable them to better understand the institutions around them.
