A video that surfaced days before the NEET-UG leak was confirmed has become a crucial piece of evidence in the investigation. In the footage, a man is seen asking two female students whether questions from his coaching centre's mock tests had appeared in the actual exam. The students, smiling, confirm that most of the biology, chemistry, and physics questions they encountered were indeed from those mock tests.
The Man Behind the Video
The man in the video is Shivraj Motegaonkar, the founder of Renukai Career Centre (RCC), a popular coaching institute he established approximately 25 years ago. Motegaonkar is currently under arrest in connection with the NEET-UG exam leak case. According to sources from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the video, initially believed to be a publicity stunt, now serves as the strongest indication of his involvement in the wrongdoing.
Investigation Details
The CBI has been probing the leak of the NEET-UG question paper, which affected thousands of students across the country. The video, which went viral on social media, raised suspicions when it was discovered that the mock test questions closely mirrored those in the leaked exam. Investigators are now examining the extent of the leak and whether other individuals or institutions were involved.
The arrest of Motegaonkar has sent shockwaves through the education sector, particularly in coaching hubs where intense competition often leads to unethical practices. The case highlights the vulnerabilities in the examination system and the need for stricter security measures.
