One year after the passing of legendary musician Ozzy Osbourne, his family has announced a groundbreaking project that will allow fans to interact with a digital version of the star. An AI-powered hologram of Osbourne is being developed, enabling the public to meet the late singer in an augmented reality setting.
Ozzy Osbourne to be revived through AI hologram
Sharon Osbourne and her son Jack Osbourne shared the news at the 2026 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, as reported by the BBC. They revealed that the initiative aims to preserve Osbourne's legacy through cutting-edge technology.
"You can ask Ozzy anything, and he will answer you in his own voice - and the answers will be what Ozzy would have said," Sharon explained during the event. The hologram will utilize Osbourne's actual voice and personality to respond to fan queries in real time.
The hologram will not be limited to a single location. The family plans to establish it across the globe. "We're going to take it all around the world. People can talk to him, and he will talk back," Sharon added.
The project is being developed by two tech companies, which will employ Osbourne's voice, image, and movements to bring the AI hologram to life. Jack Osbourne described the project as "scary" in its accuracy. "It's kind of scary how it's really very accurate," he said during the expo panel. "He will exist digitally as himself for as long as we have computers."
According to a Forbes report, specific locations for the hologram have not yet been disclosed, but it will be available at various sites in the United States and the United Kingdom. Fans will be able to interact with the hologram through interactive touchscreens.
Netizens react
The announcement sparked mixed reactions online. Many fans expressed disapproval, arguing that the project commercializes Osbourne's memory prematurely. One comment read: "Wow! A year hasn't even passed since Ozzy's passing, and they are already trying to commercialize and profit from his memory."
Another user wrote: "It has only been a year, why are they doing this?" A third posted: "Sharon Osbourne still squeezing money out of Ozzy. Even after his death. Shameful & distasteful, but on par how Sharon thinks & has done for the last 25 years."
Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76.
