Streamer N3on Exposes Viral Growth Strategy
Streamer N3on, known for his energetic style on Kick and YouTube, has revealed a surprising tactic behind his online fame. He admitted to spending heavily on people called clippers, who take short, exciting parts of his live streams and post them on social media platforms. This strategy, he explained, is a key reason his content reaches millions of viewers quickly.
The Cost of Going Viral
N3on, whose real name is Rangesh Mutama, shared that he spent around $1.4 million in just five weeks on clippers. According to a report by Business Insider, which obtained documents from N3on's team, this clipping system is a major part of his growth plan. He employs about 1,000 clippers, many based in countries like India and Nigeria. They are paid based on views, earning approximately $40 per 100,000 views, with occasional bonuses up to $50 for extra promotion.
Why Clipping Works
N3on highlighted the disparity between live viewers and viral clips. While his streams may have around 40,000 live viewers, a single clip can reach up to 50 million views. This gap makes clipping incredibly effective for expanding his audience. He cited an example of a stream with former rapper Iggy Azalea on a yacht: the live stream was modest, but clips made it appear highly popular, causing it to go viral across social media.
Controversies and Continued Growth
Despite facing controversies, N3on's content continues to grow. He believes the clipping system, though costly, accelerates his growth and helps him connect with a much larger online audience. This strategy has transformed his streaming career, making him a well-known figure among young viewers.
