"Days later, while going through his son's mobile phone, Sukhveer Singh discovered that the device had been reset shortly before the death," revealed a police officer familiar with the investigation. "Suspecting something wrong, Sukhveer used his technical expertise to recover deleted data, including chat records and call logs, which pointed to sustained blackmail."

The duo has been charged under multiple legal provisions including BNS section 108 (abetment of suicide) along with sections 66D and 67 of the Information Technology Act.
