A comprehensive five-day training programme focused on digital forensics and cyber investigation was conducted at the Centre for Cyber Operations and Security (CenCOPS) in Chandigarh from May 4 to May 8. Organized in collaboration with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), the event brought together investigating officers from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan.
Strengthening Law Enforcement Capabilities
The primary objective of the programme was to enhance the capabilities of law enforcement agencies in tackling cybercrime and handling digital evidence effectively. Participants engaged in sessions covering a wide range of topics, including digital forensics, open-source intelligence (OSINT), malware forensics, CDR/IPDR analysis, and modern investigation methodologies.
Hands-On Training with Experts
Expert faculty members and cyber specialists led hands-on sessions that utilized real-life case studies. Officers were familiarized with state-of-the-art forensic tools, evidence-handling protocols, and advanced investigation techniques. Interactive discussions and scenario-based exercises allowed participants to sharpen their skills in analyzing digital evidence, tracing online activities, and addressing emerging cyber threats.
Focus on Interstate Coordination
Officials emphasized that the initiative underscores the commitment of CenCOPS and I4C to bolster cyber policing and improve interstate coordination. By equipping officers with cutting-edge knowledge and practical experience, the programme aims to create a robust network of cybercrime investigators across the region.
