In response to the recent explosion near Shambhu, the Indian Railways has announced the deployment of drones and the initiation of 24-hour patrolling to bolster security measures. Union Minister Ravneet Bittu, who is also the Member of Parliament from Ludhiana, made this announcement after reviewing the security situation in the region.
Enhanced Security Measures
The decision comes in the wake of a blast that occurred on the railway tracks near Shambhu, raising concerns about the safety of rail operations. The Railways will now utilize drone technology to monitor sensitive areas continuously. These drones will be equipped with high-resolution cameras and night vision capabilities to ensure effective surveillance even in low-light conditions.
Additionally, the patrolling teams will be deployed on a 24/7 basis to cover vulnerable stretches of the railway network. This move aims to deter any potential sabotage attempts and ensure the safety of passengers and railway property.
Statement by Ravneet Bittu
Speaking to the media, Ravneet Bittu stated, "The safety of railway passengers is of utmost importance. The deployment of drones and round-the-clock patrolling will significantly enhance our surveillance capabilities and help prevent such incidents in the future." He also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
The Railways has also planned to coordinate with local law enforcement agencies to ensure a swift response to any security threats. The new measures are expected to be implemented within a week.
