Parts of Bengaluru received light rain on Tuesday evening, bringing relief from the warm weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rainfall across the city starting Wednesday, with the possibility of intermittent showers for the next few days.
Rainfall Details
The light showers were reported in areas such as Whitefield, Marathahalli, and parts of South Bengaluru. The maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 33 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 21 degrees Celsius. The humidity levels were high, contributing to the cloudy conditions.
Weather Forecast
According to the IMD, Bengaluru can expect generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain in some areas on Wednesday. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 31 degrees Celsius, and the minimum around 20 degrees Celsius. The weather department has also warned of possible thunderstorms in isolated areas.
The city has been experiencing a mix of sunny and cloudy days, with the southwest monsoon being active over the region. The rainfall activity is expected to continue for the next few days, providing relief from the heat.
Impact on Daily Life
Residents have welcomed the rain, which has brought down the temperature and improved air quality. However, waterlogging was reported in some low-lying areas, causing minor traffic disruptions. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has advised residents to stay cautious and avoid flooded areas.
Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly, as rain may lead to traffic congestion in certain parts of the city. The weather department has assured that the situation is normal and no major weather-related incidents are expected.
