Gujarat Integrates 65% Services with DigiLocker, Awarded

The Gujarat state government announced on Friday that 65% of its services are now integrated with DigiLocker, simplifying digital governance for citizens. According to an official statement, Gujarat was among six states recognized for outstanding contribution to DigiLocker integration at the National Consultative Workshop on Strengthening Cyber Security Framework for State Data held in New Delhi.

Integration Across Departments

Various departments and institutions of the Gujarat government have linked their services with DigiLocker, benefiting 1.92 crore citizens across the state. For instance, ration card details from the Ration Card Management System (RCMS) portal of the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department can be directly accessed by citizens in their DigiLocker accounts. Similarly, important documents issued after January 1, 2016, such as caste certificates, income certificates, and domicile certificates, are available through the Digital Gujarat Portal, the single entry point for all e-services of the Gujarat government.

Municipal Corporations on Board

Municipal corporations in major cities including Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, and Jamnagar have also activated DigiLocker services for various citizen service documents. This move is part of the state's broader effort to enhance digital governance and ensure secure access to official documents.
