Apple Launches iPhone Pocket: A Fashionable Accessory with ISSEY MIYAKE
Apple's New iPhone Pocket: A Stylish Carry Solution

Apple and ISSEY MIYAKE Unveil the iPhone Pocket

In a unique fusion of technology and high fashion, Apple has introduced a novel accessory named the iPhone Pocket. This launch represents a collaborative effort with the renowned Japanese design house, ISSEY MIYAKE. The core concept behind the accessory is inspired by a simple "piece of cloth," aiming to redefine how users carry and personalize their iPhones.

Design Philosophy and Key Features

The iPhone Pocket is the result of extensive research and development conducted in Japan by ISSEY MIYAKE, working closely with the Apple Design Studio. The design emphasizes simplicity and open interpretation. Yoshiyuki Miyamae, Design Director of MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO, explained that the accessory explores the joy of wearing the iPhone in one's own way, echoing their philosophy of leaving things less defined to allow for personal possibilities.

Constructed with a 3D-knitted, ribbed open structure, the pocket shares qualities with ISSEY MIYAKE's iconic original pleats. This design is not only stylish but also highly functional. Users can employ the iPhone Pocket in multiple ways: as a handheld carrier, tied onto bags, or even worn on sleeves. A long strap variant is also available for cross-body wear.

The pocket is engineered to fully enclose an iPhone while having enough space for other small, essential items. A distinctive feature is its stretchable opening, which allows a peek at the contents inside, including the iPhone itself. This launch follows Apple's recent introduction of the Crossbody Strap for the iPhone 17 series, indicating a continued focus on wearable iPhone accessories.

Price, Availability, and Colour Options

The new iPhone Pocket comes with a premium price tag. The standard version is priced at $149.95, while the long strap design costs $229.95. Apple has announced that the accessory will become available for purchase starting 14 November.

It will be sold in select regions including the U.S., UK, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Greater China, Italy, and France through Apple Stores and the company's official website. For colour choices, the short strap model will be offered in a vibrant palette: lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black. The long strap design will be available in the more subdued shades of sapphire, cinnamon, and black.
