Bajaj Chetak C2501 Launched: Rs 91,399 Electric Scooter

Bajaj Auto has officially launched its new Chetak C2501 electric scooter in India. The company priced this model at Rs 91,399, which makes it the most accessible option in the Chetak lineup. Customers who are interested can now book the e-scooter online or visit their nearest dealership for more details. Deliveries are expected to start very soon.

Key Specifications and Performance

The new Bajaj Chetak C2501 comes with a floorboard-mounted 2.5kWh battery. This battery pairs with a hub-mounted motor that delivers 1.8kW of continuous power and 2.2kW at peak performance. According to the company's claims, the scooter offers a range of 113 kilometers on a single charge. It also reaches a top speed of 55 kilometers per hour.

Charging the battery is relatively quick. Using a 750W charger, the battery can be fully charged in just 3.45 hours. This makes it convenient for daily commutes and short trips around the city.

Design and Aesthetic Updates

Bajaj has introduced several minor cosmetic changes to the Chetak C2501. The front apron has been redesigned, giving the scooter a cleaner and more modern appearance. The turn indicators have been moved from the apron to the handlebar for better visibility.

The signature horseshoe-shaped headlamp remains a key feature. It includes an LED daytime running light that is neatly integrated around it. At the rear, the scooter now sports a redesigned taillamp with a horizontal layout. This design moves away from the earlier split-style arrangement.

The seat has also been reworked. It is now flatter and measures 650 mm in length with a seat height of 763 mm. This change aims to improve comfort for riders. The C2501 is available in six vibrant colour options: green, white, black, grey, red, and yellow.

Features and Competitors

The Chetak C2501 is packed with features that enhance the riding experience. It comes with an LCD instrument display, key-based ignition, and a twin-sided swingarm. The scooter also includes an open glovebox and LED lighting all around.

Storage is ample with 25 litres of under-seat space. Other notable features include reverse assist, Bluetooth connectivity with music playback, and a USB charging port. These features make it a practical choice for urban commuters.

In the competitive electric scooter market, the Bajaj Chetak C2501 goes head-to-head with models like the Ola S1 X, Hero Vida VX2, and TVS Orbiter. Its lower price point and solid feature set position it as a strong contender.

Executive Insight on the Launch

Eric Vas, President of Urbanite Business at Bajaj Auto Ltd., shared his thoughts on the new launch. He stated, "The Chetak C25 reflects a clear shift in how urban mobility is being used today. People are taking shorter trips, navigating tighter streets, and showing a growing need for independent movement."

Vas added, "While its form is compact and contemporary, the fundamentals remain unmistakably Chetak: solidity, sturdiness, and reliability. The C25 allows us to extend the Chetak portfolio to a younger, more agile use case. At the same time, we continue to deliver the trust and confidence that the brand has stood for over generations."

The launch of the Bajaj Chetak C2501 marks a significant step in making electric mobility more affordable and accessible in India. With its competitive pricing and practical features, it aims to attract a wide range of customers looking for reliable urban transportation.
