BMW India has officially commenced pre-bookings for the new BMW X6 M60i xDrive coupe SUV, marking its return to the Indian market after being phased out in January 2023. Interested customers can reserve the vehicle online or at their nearest BMW dealerships, with the official launch anticipated in the coming months.
The model will be imported into India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route, and is expected to be priced at over Rs 1.3 crore (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will compete directly with the Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupe and the Porsche Cayenne Coupe in the Indian luxury SUV segment.
Powertrain and Performance
Under the hood, the new BMW X6 M60i is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 523 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. The engine is equipped with 48V mild hybrid technology, paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels. The coupe SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h.
Exterior Design
The new BMW X6 M60i features updated styling while retaining its signature coupe-SUV silhouette. At the front, it gets a revised illuminated kidney grille, slimmer adaptive LED headlamps with new daytime running light signatures, and a redesigned bumper with larger air intakes and gloss black inserts. The profile showcases the iconic sloping roofline, new alloy wheel designs, and M-specific exterior elements, while sculpted body panels and a pronounced shoulder line maintain the vehicle’s muscular stance. At the rear, BMW has revised the LED tail-lamp graphics and updated the bumper with larger exhaust surrounds and a diffuser-inspired design.
Interior and Features
Inside, the BMW X6 M60i offers a dual-tone cabin with a layered dashboard design featuring BMW’s curved display setup, which integrates a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Additional features include electrically adjustable front seats with ventilation, heating, and memory functions, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The SUV also comes equipped with an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite, and the India-spec model is expected to offer a similar list of equipment.
