The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has established user fees and operational timings for various sports activities at the newly constructed sports hub, 'Oxygen Sports Arena', located at Gate number 3 of Lohia Park in Gomti Nagar. Built at a cost of Rs 7 crore, the facility offers skating, lawn tennis, badminton, pickleball, and box cricket.
Background and Transformation
LDA vice-chairperson Prathamesh Kumar explained that the site previously housed an artificial water body dependent on groundwater, which led to water wastage and raised concerns about mosquito breeding and waterborne diseases. The area has now been redeveloped into a multi-sport arena to promote healthy activities.
Facility Details
According to officials, the skating rink is the largest in the state, spanning approximately 4,000 square meters. An additional 4,500 square meters have been allocated for other sports. The authority claims this is the first dedicated skate park in Lucknow.
User Fees
LDA horticulture officer S K Bharti announced that fees for pickleball, lawn tennis, badminton, and box cricket are charged per team, while skating fees are per player on a monthly basis. Skating instructors will be available for children, but no coaching is planned for other sports.
- Pickleball and lawn tennis: Rs 400 per hour
- Badminton: Rs 200 per hour
- Box cricket: Rs 600 per hour
- Skating: Rs 1,500 per month plus a one-time registration fee of Rs 100
