Maruti Suzuki Fronx Facelift Spied Testing Ahead of 2025 Launch

Maruti Suzuki India is actively working on updates across its lineup, with test mules of models like the Brezza and Baleno already spotted multiple times. Now, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift has also been seen undergoing testing, indicating that the company is gradually preparing a series of mid-cycle updates for its popular models.

Expected Launch and Current Sales

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift is expected to be introduced later this year by Maruti Suzuki India Limited. Launched in April 2023, the Fronx has become one of the highest-selling sub-compact SUVs and ranked as the second best-selling Nexa offering in FY2026, with sales exceeding 1.72 lakh units.

Design Changes

Based on spy images, the overall silhouette of the Fronx remains similar to the outgoing model, but it is expected to get a complete redesign at the front and rear. The test mule is heavily camouflaged, making it difficult to discern clear design changes. At the front, the Fronx is likely to feature a larger, revised grille with slimmer chrome elements, along with possible updates to the headlamp and DRL layout. A new lower grille design may also be introduced. In profile, the update is expected to include newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV may receive a revised tailgate, a new lower bumper, and subtle updates to the connected LED taillamps.

Interior and Features

The overall cabin layout is expected to remain unchanged, though a new interior theme could be introduced. Features such as a free-standing 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic LED headlamps with DRLs, wireless charging, automatic climate control, connected car technology, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Arkamys-tuned sound system, cruise control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, rear AC vents, auto-dimming IRVM, HUD display, 360-degree camera, up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, and ESP with hill-hold assist are expected to continue. Additionally, the facelifted model may feature a single pane sunroof, ambient lighting, and a new instrument cluster.

Powertrain Options

No powertrain changes have been confirmed. The Fronx is expected to retain the same engine options: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 89 bhp and 113 Nm of torque, and a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine delivering 100 bhp and 148 Nm of torque. Gearbox options are likely to include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
