Lucknow: Amid the power outage crisis in Lucknow exacerbated by the ongoing heatwave, the managing director of Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (MVVNL), Riya Kejriwal, has deputed senior officials at sensitive 33/11 KV substations across the city to ensure uninterrupted power supply and quick redressal of complaints.
According to an official order issued on Friday, senior engineers and technical officers have been assigned to substations in Lucknow central, Gomtinagar, Janakipuram, and Amethi distribution zones. The officials will remain stationed in their respective areas every night from 9 PM to 6 AM until May 31.
The move comes after repeated incidents of transformer overload, feeder tripping, and power disruptions triggered by excessive electricity consumption during peak hours. MVVNL has instructed officers to closely monitor load conditions, maintain uninterrupted functioning of feeders and transformers, and immediately resolve consumer grievances.
The order also directs officials to ensure adequate manpower and maintenance vehicles at substations. MVVNL said special monitoring teams and WhatsApp groups have also been formed for real-time coordination and faster fault resolution.
This proactive step aims to mitigate the impact of the heatwave on residents and businesses, ensuring that power supply remains stable during the critical summer months. The deployment of senior officials underscores the seriousness with which MVVNL is addressing the situation, as repeated outages have caused significant inconvenience and economic disruption.
Residents are encouraged to report any power-related issues promptly through the designated channels, and MVVNL has assured that complaints will be addressed swiftly. The company also advises consumers to use electricity judiciously during peak hours to reduce the load on the grid.
