Skoda Slavia Facelift Spied Again, India Launch Soon

Skoda Auto India is preparing to introduce the updated Skoda Slavia facelift to the Indian market. The sedan has been observed undergoing testing on Indian roads on multiple occasions, with each sighting unveiling fresh details about the upcoming model. Recently, the Slavia facelift was spied once again, providing a closer look at what buyers can anticipate from the refreshed sedan.

Design Updates

Originally launched in 2021, the Slavia is now set for its first mid-cycle update. The revised model will feature cosmetic design enhancements, a new variant lineup, added features, and more. While the overall silhouette is expected to remain largely unchanged, the Slavia facelift is likely to receive extensively revised front and rear styling.

At the front, it is expected to showcase a redesigned fascia with sharper headlamps, a revised grille incorporating a connected light strip similar to the Kushaq facelift, and a new bumper design. Along the sides, the sedan could sport newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, updates are likely to include a reworked boot lid, slimmer tail-lamp housings, and other subtle styling enhancements. The sedan will also feature dynamic turn signals. The current model uses halogen indicators at both ends, but the facelifted model will replace them with LED units. The updated combination lamps with dynamic turn indicators will be positioned in the lower outer section, with a sweeping inside-to-out animation reminiscent of those found on higher-end sedans.

Interior and Features

Inside the cabin, changes are expected to be minimal, limited largely to updated upholstery. On the features front, the Slavia facelift is likely to gain a fully digital instrument cluster, a redesigned steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and a host of additional upgrades.

Powertrain

Mechanically, the sedan is expected to continue unchanged, retaining the same set of engine options. Similar to the Taigun, Volkswagen is anticipated to introduce a new 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, replacing the earlier 6-speed unit. Another engine option is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol unit.

When launched, the updated sedan will compete with the Volkswagen Virtus, Honda City, and Hyundai Verna.
