Toyota Motor Corporation has officially launched the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ in Japan. Priced at JPY 4,500,100, which converts to roughly Rs 27.24 lakh, this SUV is also anticipated to arrive in the Indian market in the future. Land Cruiser FJ: Key Details
In terms of dimensions, the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ measures between 4,575 mm and 4,610 mm in length, depending on the specification. Its width stands at 1,855 mm, while height ranges from 1,890 mm to 1,960 mm. The wheelbase is 2,580 mm, which is shorter compared to larger Land Cruiser models. This shorter wheelbase contributes to a tight turning radius of 5.5 metres, enhancing maneuverability in off-road conditions.
The design remains faithful to the traditional Land Cruiser identity, featuring a boxy silhouette, upright stance, and rugged proportions. Toyota has incorporated smooth rounded edges to avoid an overly aggressive look. Exterior highlights include LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, part-LED tail lamps, and a side-hinged tailgate with a spare wheel mounted at the rear. Notably, Toyota has omitted a sunroof, but this is unlikely to deter serious off-road enthusiasts.
Inside the cabin, the Land Cruiser FJ offers a modern yet functional layout. It includes a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch driver information display, along with a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Additional features include dual-zone automatic climate control and connected car technologies.

Under the hood, the Japanese-spec model is powered by a 2.7-litre 2TR-FE naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine. This motor produces approximately 163 hp and 246 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted through a 6-speed automatic gearbox, paired with a part-time four-wheel-drive system.
Toyota states that the SUV has been engineered with serious off-road capability in mind. The Land Cruiser FJ is built on a platform derived from Toyota's IMV architecture and is claimed to offer wheel articulation comparable to the larger 70 Series Land Cruiser, ensuring excellent off-road performance.
