Kabuni has introduced its artificial intelligence-enabled coaching platform for cricket during the inaugural Playtime 2026 event held in Mumbai. The company is launching a new training tool that leverages AI to deliver real-time coaching and performance feedback to players. With this cricket platform, AI coaching aims to bring structured training to athletes of all skill levels.
Super Coaches Lineup
Alongside the platform launch, Kabuni announced a roster of "Super Coaches" featuring former and current cricketers, including Sourav Ganguly, Shane Watson, AB de Villiers, and Shreyas Iyer. According to the company, the platform is designed to provide personalised coaching through AI-driven analysis, enabling users to train and receive feedback using just a smartphone.
How Kabuni's AI Coaching Platform Works
At the heart of the platform is Kabuni PlayOS, the company's proprietary technology that analyses players' movements during training sessions in real time. The system evaluates factors such as timing, balance, alignment, footwork, and sequencing before offering feedback to help users refine their technique. Kabuni states that the technology has been trained using performance data from professional cricketers and aims to replicate aspects of structured coaching typically found in cricket academies. The company emphasised that its goal is to complement, not replace, coaches and trainers by providing additional coaching support.
Kabuni has chosen India as its first market, citing the country's large cricket-playing community and well-established sports ecosystem. The company plans to conduct an initial testing phase in India and collaborate with sports organisations before expanding internationally later this year.
Founder's Vision
Kabuni founder Nimesh Patel said, "For too many young cricketers in India, the biggest barriers are access to high-quality coaching, competitive pathways, and consistent development. Kabuni is designed to change that. By combining AI-powered coaching with new youth competitions, we're creating a platform where every young player can train, improve, and be recognised - wherever they are, whatever their background."
Kabuni Launches "Do You Want to Play for a Legend?" Campaign
Alongside the platform launch, Kabuni unveiled a nationwide campaign titled "Do You Want to Play for a Legend?" This initiative will give players aged 12 to 16 the opportunity to compete for places on teams led by the Super Coaches. Participants will train using the Kabuni platform, take part in regional and national trials, and compete for selection in squads that will advance to a national youth tournament. The company stated that the programme is intended to create additional pathways for young players while providing structured coaching and competitive opportunities.
