Prayagraj: Top leadership, scientists, and defence experts will gather on a single platform to showcase India's growing military and technological capabilities at the upcoming North Tech Symposium 2026, to be held in the Sangam City from May 4 to May 6.
Inauguration and Key Attendees
The symposium, themed 'Defence Triveni Sangam', will be inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh will attend as special guests.
Organized by Ministry of Defence
Organised by the Directorate of Public Relations under the Ministry of Defence, the three-day event aims to present a comprehensive display of advanced military technologies, defence industry innovations, and the operational capabilities of soldiers deployed in challenging terrains.
According to Defence Spokesperson Wing Commander Debartho Dhar, the symposium will serve as a 'single-window platform', connecting armed forces, academia, and defence manufacturers, thereby strengthening the country's strategic ecosystem.
Focus on Future of Defence Mobility
A major highlight of the event will be the focus on the future of defence mobility. Live demonstrations will showcase cutting-edge technologies designed to enhance troop safety and operational efficiency, even in extreme geographical conditions. These include AI-based surveillance systems and heavy-lift logistics drones capable of supporting military operations in remote and difficult areas.
Indigenous Artillery and Self-Reliance
The symposium will also feature indigenous artillery systems and new prototypes developed to reduce dependence on foreign defence equipment, in line with the government's push for self-reliance. Startups as well as established companies will demonstrate how innovations are being transformed into real-world defence products, reinforcing the Make in India campaign.
Thematic Sessions and Collaboration
In addition, thematic sessions on defence innovation and manufacturing will be held, where scientists, industry leaders, and experts will share insights and experiences. The event is expected to emerge as a key platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and showcasing India's advancements in defence technology.
This symposium underscores India's commitment to becoming a global defence manufacturing hub, leveraging indigenous capabilities and fostering partnerships across sectors.
