Mini India is all set to introduce the made-in-India Mini Countryman C in the domestic market tomorrow, June 17, 2026. Bookings are already open, and interested customers can reserve the car exclusively through Mini dealerships. Deliveries are expected to commence immediately after the launch.
Local Production and Pricing
The new Mini Countryman C will be locally produced at the BMW Group plant in Chennai. It is anticipated to be priced between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will compete with the BMW X1, Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and other similarly priced models.
Design Highlights
The Mini Countryman C adopts design cues from the JCW and electric versions, featuring circular headlamps paired with a more squared grille, an upright nose, and a revised bumper for a stronger appearance. In profile, it boasts a boxy silhouette with a flat roofline, upright stance, and squared wheel arches. The longer wheelbase enhances proportions and interior space. At the rear, LED tail-lamps with a modern lighting signature and a clean tailgate design keep the look simple.
Interior and Features
Inside, the cabin layout is revised for a cleaner, more contemporary design while retaining key brand elements. A central circular OLED touchscreen dominates the dashboard, replacing the conventional instrument cluster and infotainment setup. Below the screen, toggle-style physical switches provide tactile controls. The interior uses textile-based surfaces and recycled materials, including a knit fabric dashboard extending across the cabin.
Engine and Platform
The new Mini Countryman C is expected to feature a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 136 hp and 230 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox and sends power to the front wheels. The same engine is also used in the BMW X1. The Countryman is built on the front-wheel-drive UKL2 platform, shared with the BMW X1, which is also assembled in India.
