OnePlus N6 5G Debuts with Massive 8000mAh Battery
OnePlus has officially launched its latest budget 5G smartphone, the OnePlus N6 5G, in India at a starting price of Rs 19,999. The device is headlined by an industry-leading 8000mAh battery, the largest ever in a OnePlus phone, promising exceptional endurance for heavy users.
The OnePlus N6 5G is available in two configurations: the base model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage priced at Rs 19,999, and an 8GB RAM + 128GB variant for Rs 21,999. Both models support 33W fast charging via USB-C.
Key Specifications and Features
Under the hood, the OnePlus N6 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset, ensuring smooth 5G connectivity and everyday performance. The device sports a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1080x2408 pixel resolution, offering fluid scrolling and vibrant visuals.
In the camera department, the phone features a dual rear setup: a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, there is an 8-megapixel front camera housed in a punch-hole cutout.
The 8000mAh battery is the standout feature, capable of delivering up to two days of moderate usage. OnePlus claims the device can provide 48 hours of video playback or 120 hours of music playback on a single charge. The battery supports 33W fast charging, which can charge from 0 to 50% in about 45 minutes.
Software and Additional Features
The OnePlus N6 5G runs on OxygenOS 13.1 based on Android 13 out of the box, with a promise of two major Android updates and three years of security patches. The phone also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 5G SA/NSA support, dual SIM slots, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and USB Type-C 2.0. The device weighs 215 grams and measures 164.3 x 75.8 x 9.1 mm.
Where to Buy and Availability
The OnePlus N6 5G will be available for purchase starting July 7, 2026, exclusively on Amazon India and the official OnePlus India website. Customers can choose from two color options: Midnight Black and Ocean Blue.
As part of the launch offer, buyers can avail of a Rs 1,000 instant discount on HDFC Bank credit and debit cards, effectively bringing down the starting price to Rs 18,999. Additionally, no-cost EMI options are available for up to 6 months.
According to OnePlus India CEO Navnit Nakra, "The OnePlus N6 5G is designed for users who prioritize battery life without compromising on essential features. With its massive 8000mAh battery and 120Hz display, it sets a new benchmark in the budget segment."
Market Positioning and Competition
The OnePlus N6 5G enters a crowded budget 5G smartphone market in India, competing with devices like the Redmi Note 13 5G, Realme Narzo 60 5G, and Samsung Galaxy M34 5G. However, its 8000mAh battery gives it a distinct advantage over rivals that typically offer 5000-6000mAh cells.
Industry analysts note that the large battery could appeal to power users, gamers, and those in areas with unreliable power supply. The device also stands out with its 120Hz display at this price point, though the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset is less powerful than some competitors' offerings.
The launch comes as OnePlus aims to strengthen its presence in the sub-Rs 20,000 segment, which accounts for a significant portion of India's smartphone market. The company has been expanding its portfolio with devices like the OnePlus Nord CE series and now the N-series, targeting value-conscious consumers.
