Ahmedabad experienced a slight respite from scorching heat on Sunday as the maximum temperature dropped to 40.6 degrees Celsius, compared to Saturday's 41.3 degrees Celsius. Despite a partially cloudy sky and a gentle breeze hinting at the possible arrival of the southwest monsoon by Monday, the weather office has dashed hopes of an early onset.
Temperature and Humidity Details
Sunday's maximum temperature was recorded 0.9 degrees above the normal range, while the minimum temperature settled at 29 degrees Celsius, which is 1 degree above the average. Relative humidity levels stood at 68% at 8:30 am and dropped to 33% by 5:30 pm.
IMD Forecast for Monday
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that Monday's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 41 degrees Celsius. As of Sunday, the northern limit of the monsoon was recorded near Harnai and Solapur in Maharashtra, suggesting no immediate relief from the heat for the next few days.
