Farm Fires Surge: MP Leads Stubble Burning Cases

Bathinda: Farm fire cases continue to rise in the region, with Haryana and Punjab reporting 67 and 29 cases, respectively. Madhya Pradesh reported 2,669 farm fire cases on Thursday, up from 2,311 recorded on Wednesday, followed by 652 in Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier, during the paddy harvesting in the 2025 kharif season, Madhya Pradesh remained at the top in stubble burning, followed by Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. Madhya Pradesh recorded 17,067 cases, followed by 7,290 in Uttar Pradesh and 5,114 in Punjab till November 30, 2025.

Crop residue burning cases till April 23 stood at 25,144 in Madhya Pradesh, 10,604 in Uttar Pradesh, 175 in Haryana, 117 in Punjab, and 9 in Delhi, totaling 36,049 cases.
