Haryana to develop Yadavindra Gardens as one-stop wedding destination
Haryana to develop Yadavindra Gardens as wedding hub

The Haryana Tourism Department will renovate the historic Yadavindra Gardens in Pinjore and the scenic Tikkar Taal in Morni Hills at a cost of Rs 90 crore, following directions from Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini during a high-level review meeting on Friday evening.

One-stop wedding destination planned

In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Wed in India' vision, the Chief Minister directed the development of a modern 'One-Stop Destination for Weddings' near Yadavindra Gardens. The project aims to create an additional revenue source for the Tourism Department. The high-end wedding venue will include a convention centre, an exhibition centre, and modern amenities.

A luxury hotel will also be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, featuring a state-of-the-art rooftop helipad to allow guests from across the country and abroad to arrive directly by air.

Heritage preservation and new attractions

Commissioner and Secretary of Heritage and Tourism, Dr Amit Agrawal, informed the Chief Minister that the historical and architectural heritage of Yadavindra Gardens will be carefully preserved. New attractions will be added without altering the garden's original character, including state-of-the-art musical fountains, a landscaped butterfly park, and an aquarium. The illuminated landscape and enhanced night-time ambience are expected to become major tourist draws.

Tikkar Taal to become adventure hub

Dr Agrawal added that existing facilities at Tikkar Taal near Morni will be comprehensively renovated to make it a premier destination for adventure enthusiasts. Upgrades will include the adventure park, boating facilities, a haunted house, and other attractions, transforming the destination into an exciting and memorable experience for visitors.

The initiative is expected to significantly boost tourism in Haryana, generate local employment, and increase state revenue, according to a government spokesperson.
