A camper vehicle overturned in Kullu district's Nirmand tehsil late Friday evening, leaving 23 passengers injured. The accident occurred when the driver lost control while driving at high speed, causing the vehicle to first collide with another vehicle before overturning.
Details of the Incident
The vehicle was driven by Diwan Chand, a resident of Kimcha village. According to passengers, the driver was driving negligently and at high speed. Local residents immediately launched rescue efforts, using ambulances and private vehicles to shift the injured to a nearby hospital.
Condition of the Injured
Two of the injured, in critical condition, were referred to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla for advanced treatment. Several other victims remain in serious condition and are under medical observation.
Legal Action
A case has been registered against the driver for negligent driving. Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
