Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway to Open in June, PM Modi to Flag Off

The much-anticipated 63-kilometer Lucknow-Kanpur expressway is set to become operational in June, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to flag off the first motor vehicle on it in the coming days. The high-speed, access-controlled expressway will connect Miranpur Pinvat village in Sarojininagar, Lucknow, to Ata village in Unnao.

Key Features and Amenities

A large vacant space at the site is being developed as a wayside amenity at Amaras village, which will feature entry and exit ramps. Situated next to the Unnao-Lalganj national highway, this facility will make it easy to park buses and other vehicles deputed for ferrying the public and party workers.

Toll System and Charges

Motor vehicle owners will experience a barrier-less and lane-free tolling system while entering the expressway from Lucknow city. However, for entry or exit from Kanpur or other four ramps, conventional toll plaza systems will be used. A car owner will have to pay Rs 275 to cover the entire 63-km stretch. After reaching Ata village, drivers will need to cover an additional 5.5 km to reach the Jajmau Ganga bridge before entering Kanpur.
