Panel Discussion on Labour Laws at NUSRL
Distinguished dignitaries, legal experts, government officials, academia, and paralegal volunteers (PLVs) from Ranchi and Ramgarh districts gathered at the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, to deliberate on contemporary challenges in labour law, access to justice, and pre-litigation dispute resolution mechanisms. The Centre for Labour Laws Research (CLLR), NUSRL, and Central Coalfields Limited organized the programme titled 'Labour Laws at the Crossroads – Reforming in a Changing Economy'. The event aimed to address pressing issues in labour legislation and explore ways to improve legal access for workers.
Anti-Tobacco Rally by Ranchi University
Ranchi University's National Service Scheme (NSS) members organized a rally in the city to mark World Tobacco Day. The NSS students took out the rally from the university campus, marching by Albert Ekka Chowk and Shaheed Chowk before returning to the main gate of the university. The rally aimed to educate people on the ill-effects of tobacco use and to promote a healthy lifestyle. Participants carried banners and shouted slogans to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco consumption.
Teaching with Cases Seminar at IIM Ranchi
IIM Ranchi successfully concluded a two-day 'Teaching with Cases Seminar' aimed at enhancing faculty capabilities in case-based teaching methodology and participant-centred learning. The seminar focused on strengthening the use of case pedagogy as an effective tool for developing critical thinking and decision-making abilities among students. Professor Willis M. Emmons, Senior Lecturer of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, provided valuable insights into the application of case-based teaching in higher education. Faculty members from various institutions attended the seminar.
SBU Student Wins Silver in Taekwondo Competition
Sarla Birla University (SBU) BBA student Ayush Raj bagged a silver medal in the PTF Open International Taekwondo Championship held in Srinagar from May 30 to June 2. The Professional Taekwondo Association of India organized the competition, which saw participation from over 600 players from different parts of the world. Ayush's achievement highlights the growing talent in martial arts among students in the region.
