West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday handed over land to the Border Security Force (BSF) for border fencing along the India-Bangladesh frontier, vowing a strict crackdown on infiltrators. Addressing a BSF land transfer meeting, Adhikari said the process marked the beginning of a larger initiative to improve border security in the state.
Land Transfer Marks New Phase in Border Security
The transfer of land is a significant step towards strengthening the border infrastructure in West Bengal. Adhikari emphasized that the state government is committed to ensuring the safety and integrity of the border. He stated that the BSF will now be able to construct fencing and other security installations on the transferred land, which will help in preventing illegal cross-border activities.
