Union Home Minister Amit Shah has declared that the target of making Bastar region in Chhattisgarh free from Naxal influence has been successfully achieved. Speaking at a press conference in Raipur, Shah credited the coordinated efforts of security forces and the implementation of government welfare schemes for this milestone.
Coordinated Security Push
Shah highlighted that a multi-pronged strategy involving the Central Armed Police Forces, state police, and intelligence agencies led to the neutralization of top Naxal leaders and the dismantling of their supply networks. He noted that the number of Naxal-related incidents in Bastar has dropped by over 70% in the last three years.
Development Initiatives
The Home Minister also emphasized the role of development projects in winning the trust of local communities. Roads, mobile towers, schools, and healthcare centers have been established in previously inaccessible areas, providing livelihoods and reducing support for insurgents.
Shah stated that the government will continue its efforts to ensure lasting peace and prosperity in the region. He warned that any residual Naxal elements would be dealt with firmly. The achievement marks a significant victory for the government's zero-tolerance policy against insurgency.
